I’m Carol Das — a meditation teacher, writer, and researcher interested in the relationship between consciousness, philosophy, and social transformation.
My journey into meditation began as a personal exploration of awareness, presence, and emotional balance. Over time, meditation became not only a practice of inner stillness but also a way of reflecting on how our inner worlds shape the societies we create.
Through this experience, I began to see that collective consciousness emerges from individual awareness — that the beliefs, narratives, and assumptions we carry internally are often reflected in the social structures, institutions, and systems of power that organise our societies.
This realisation led me to explore these questions more deeply through academic study. My academic background is in Development Studies and International Relations, and I am currently completing an MA in Gender, Sexuality and Global Politics at SOAS, University of London. My research focuses on gender equality, social justice, and the ways political and cultural narratives shape systems of power and inequality.
Alongside my academic work, I teach meditation and write about philosophy and consciousness. My training includes meditation and contemplative practices through The Chopra Center, the Eckhart Tolle School of Awakening, and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, studying contemplative traditions rooted in Vedanta as well as approaches to holistic wellbeing.
Through meditation sessions, courses, writing, and upcoming podcasts, I explore how contemplative practices and philosophical inquiry can contribute to greater awareness — both individually and collectively — and how this awareness may support more reflective and conscious societies.
I currently live in Cascais, Portugal, where I continue to study, write, and share meditation practices that support both inner clarity and deeper engagement with the world around us.
